Washi

To help us along with our travel journal writing I've decided to have some pages prepared with prompts ready to fill in, and some pages that are just a bit prettied as well as the blank pages we'll take.

Last week when I posted I had been doing a bit of the 'prettying' with stamps and punches, and since then I've spent a bit (ok a lot ;0)) of time checking out some scrapbooky blogs for inspiration.

One of the things I love is how people use washi tape. I popped onto the Scrapbook Store website just to get just a roll of blue & red stripes. Then, well, I guess it's possible that I maybe went overboard  ;0)

It's just all so cute!

Creative space :: travel journal

There is only just over 2 weeks until we're off on our holiday!

The past two trips I've been on have with my mum, and she's always super good at keeping a diary of our trip. Inspired by mum, this time I want to really make sure I do my best to have a record of everything. So this week I'm working on putting together our travel journal!

Check out more creative spaces here!

Baking (of sorts) Vicariously

Helloooo out there!

Well, I've been up to bugger all of crafty interest (too busy at work!) BUT my lovely clever friend Michelle has had a quilt pattern featured on the Moda Bakeshop website!

I'm super proud of her - do pop over and check it out!

Creative space :: baby sewapalooza

This week I'm trying to catch up on seeing baby pressies for my many friends who have had littlies arrive this year. I'm working on getting loads of bibs sewn up from a couple of different patterns, and also have a couple of baby quilts underway.

I think I might have a sewing retreat at home weekend (a la lovely buttontree lane =))

Don't forget to pop over here for more creative spaces or to join in =)

Canberra :: National Botanic Gardens

Monday was a public holiday here (next Monday too!), and we took mum and my in-laws to the Australian national botanic gardens for lunch.

I've been to the cafe a bunch of times but don't remember ever really going for a walk around the gardens. I promise we'll be doing it again soon - its just around the corner from us and look how pretty it is!

Canberra :: Floriade

Last year we had so much miserable weather during Floriade that I didn't quite make it in for a look. Last week mum was here so we took advantage of the perfect weather and popped in for a little look.

It is always gorgeous - here are a couple of my fave pics =)
